Welcome to our wedding site!

We’re glad that you’re here and we look forward to seeing you in October. Please check back from time to time for updates.

The marriage ceremony and outdoor reception will be held at Mountain Cove Vineyards in Lovingston, VA. Mountain Cove Vineyards is Virginia’s oldest winery, established and maintained by the Weed family who at one time were Sarah and her family’s closest neighbors and remain close friends. Please visit their website for more information on their story and their wines. http://www.mountaincovevineyards.com/

The reception will be outside on grass, so please keep this in mind when choosing your shoes. We are having a barbeque pig-roast but will have vegetarian options available, so please be sure to include this information on the RSVP card. Children are welcome at the ceremony and reception.

Lovingston is located in Nelson County, halfway between Charlottesville and Lynchburg on Rt 29. The Kirby family also has roots in Nelson County, so the venue and location seemed a natural fit for this celebration! Nelson County has much to offer in the way of outdoor activities, beautiful scenery, local fruit and produce, and an up and coming wine and beer scene. http://brewridgetrail.com/

While we have an affinity for all things Charlottesville, hotel rooms have been blocked in Lynchburg, due to UVA’s homecoming weekend. A block of rooms has been reserved until September 9th at the Holiday Inn Select (not Express) at 601 Main Street, Lynchburg. Please call 1-877-863-4780 or (434) 528-2500 and reference the Talbot-Kirby wedding, Group code TKW/SMERF. Check-in time is 3:00 pm, so if you are checking in on Saturday, you will probably want to request early check-in. We will have a charter bus available to shuttle between the hotel and the winery, departing the hotel at 3:00 pm sharp. In order to make sure we have enough seats available, please be sure to let us know via your RSVP card whether you would like to take the shuttle. The shuttle will return to the hotel around 10:00 pm.If you are making a weekend of it, here is a link with ideas of what to do and see in Lynchburg. (Amazement Square is a children’s museum that has received rave reviews, in case you are bringing the kids!) http://www.discoverlynchburg.org/

We are really excited about taking this next step in our lives and are blessed to have you as a part of it!
